Learning & understanding

Learn the methods.
Understand the science.

Computational practice and connected neuroscience, with evidence at the centre of both.

Our English learning plans are designed for researchers and learners working across neuroscience, biomedical engineering and AI.

Interactive teaching example

Movement in the Age of AI

Explore movement measurement, computer vision and computational models through an English lecture with reading and presentation modes.

Open the interactive lecture →

Try a measurement. Inspect its meaning.

The speed–accuracy activity displays actual intervals and misses from your device. It is a classroom demonstration, not a validated clinical assessment.

Structured teaching

An independent English course direction.

In planning

Proposed teaching area

ML for Mental Health Research

Use machine learning to examine research questions with care, context and a reproducible workflow.

The planned focus is methodological: study design, data quality, responsible evaluation and clear reporting when working with mental-health research questions.

Discuss the course direction
01

Research design

Turn a question into a study, identify the unit of analysis and understand where bias enters.

02

Data & measurement

Work with provenance, quality control and transparent preprocessing before choosing a model.

03

Model evaluation

Examine leakage, validation, uncertainty and the distance between a research result and real-world use.

04

Reproducible practice

Keep environments, code and reporting legible enough for another researcher to examine the work.

These are proposed learning themes, rather than a final syllabus. Research teaching does not qualify participants to diagnose, treat or deploy a clinical system.

Neuroscience Knowledge Network · NKN

Neuroscience education, connected.

NKN connects neuroscience topics from genes and cells to cognition and behaviour. Lessons and presentations can grow through contributions from educators, researchers and students, for classrooms and individual learning.
